Saltwater Brewery Tasting Room General Manager Needed
Job Summary:
Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach, FL is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and customer service-focused General Manager to join the team in the Tasting Room at our Delray Beach Brewing Facility. The General Manager will coordinate with the Operating Members to ensure outstanding guest experience and efficient operation in the Tasting Room. This position reports directly to the Founding Operating Staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Directly supervising and scheduling a staff of 12+ bartenders, bar-backs, tour guides and support staff in a high-volume, dynamic bar environment
- Maintaining successful Tasting Room operations by enforcing policies outlined as standard operating procedures while periodically reassessing these practices and making necessary improvements
- Scheduling and calendar implementation of weekly and monthly events, included but not limited to Trivia Night, Food Trucks, Bands, Charity Events
- Ordering and controlling inventory of merchandise, soft goods and general supplies
- Must oversee cleanliness and organization of all aspects of the Tasting Room Operation
- Gatekeeper of the Manager email, responsible for answering emails and checking voicemails in a timely and customer service-oriented manner
- Promotion of Tasting Room through social media including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook. Updating BeerMenus through easy-to-use online portal and printing menus for in-house use, daily.
- Overseeing and executing events including bottle releases, tap takeovers, seasonal events, corporate meetings, private tours and tastings, catered events, beer launches and other events
- Educating guests on Saltwater Brewery’s history, brand details, brewing techniques, beer culture, Delray Beach history and other topics as they relate to Saltwater Brewery
- Acting as brewery ambassador for visiting brewers, wholesale partners, retailers and others
- Accepting deliveries of kegs and packaged beer from Packaging Department and wholesale partners
- Maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of multiple draught beer dispensing systems
- Entering invoices and updating POS terminals via POS software; maintaining accuracy of inventory
- Maintaining and/or scheduling maintenance of all equipment relevant to Tasting Room Operation
- Ensuring that both guests and staff are experiencing the Saltwater Brewery Tasting Room in a fun, educational, engaging and responsible manner at all times
- Reporting daily activities and issues to Tasting Room General Manager
- All other tasks and duties as assigned by the Operating Staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 2+ years of bar, restaurant or craft beer management required
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server® required, Certified Cicerone® preferred
- Able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds and move 165 pound kegs
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and occasional holidays
- Must be comfortable giving direction, resolving conflict and addressing issues with staff and customers in a constructive, positive manner
- Experience maintaining, cleaning and troubleshooting direct- and long-draw draught systems preferred
