What's Brewing at Saltwater Brewery - September 6
It's Throwback Thursday and we're hosting a TBT-themed Charity Night to help support our local friends at Community Greening! Enjoy some fun, throwback music, and an old school themed raffle. Plus, our Stinger Double IPA is back (10.7% abv)! And anyone wearing a throwback t-shirt will get $1 off this old school popular DIPA of ours. All proceeds of our Couch Surfer Pale Ale sold tonight will go to Community Greening, and you can learn how to get involved with their local projects. Food available from Mister Food 4-10pm.
This Saturday, we are headed to the PGA National Resort & Spa Craft Beer Bash in Palm Beach Gardens and to the Florida SMaSH Beer Festival in Longwood. We brewed a special beer for SMaSH and to celebrate September as Honey Beer Month:
Wee Heavy Otter. The malt used for this beer is Maris Otter and the hops is Azacca. To give the allusion of a complex malt bill that is used in Wee Heavy or Scotch Ales, we boiled honey until it turned black to give the flavors of roasted and caramel malts. We also boiled the beer for 5 hours which allowed us to produce a Wee Heavy using only one malt! Its is 8.5% and most of the bitterness in the beer comes from the boiled honey. Wee Heavy will also be available in the Tasting Room next Thursday, September 13.
